The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has reacted to the Democracy Day Speech by the President, Bola Tinubu, where he gave assurance of a new minimum wage for the workforce, saying he failed to give them the much expected gift on June 12. Ag. President of NLC, Comrade Prince Adewale Adeyanju who reacted on behalf of the union said the President may have accurately recounted parts of the democratic journey's history, but that it is evident that he has been misinformed regarding the outcome of the wage negotiation process.   The Federal Government has instituted a legal action against the Governors of the 36 States of the Federation at the Supreme Court over alleged misconduct in the administration of Local Government Areas, LGAs. Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has left the club by mutual consent after just one season in charge at Stamford Bridge. Despite a difficult start to the season,  Pochettino's  side rallied well in the conclusion of the  Premier League  finishing inside the top 6 and securing Europa League football. A young Nigerian man named Bello Zubairu has been arrested for allegedly murdering his best friend. According to reports, the culprit borrowed 3 million naira from the deceased called Bello Bukar Adam, and as he wasn’t able to refund the payment on time hence he resulted to hiring two assassins to help kill his friend. He was said to have invited his friend to his house and unknown to his friends that he had planned on killing him fell into the trap and visited him, upon his arrival, the friend hit him with a pestle smashing his skull, and ended his life through the process When he was arrested, he was seen in car that belonged to his late friend and it was also used by the suspect to dump his corpse along the Kano-Zaria road. A housewife, Mrs Nata Igbinovia, has reportedly been hacked to death by a father and his son, while separating a fight in Edo State. The Guardian learnt that the incident happened on Saturday night at Okpagha, an outskirt of Benin city, along Auchi Road. The teenage daughter of the deceased, identified as Patience, yesterday related how her mother met her gruesome death at the hands of Mr Ayo Philip and his yet-to-be-identified son (now at large). Patience explained that her mother was separating a fight between her nephew and their neighbours (the suspects) after a heated argument when they hacked her to death with a knife and an axe. She alleged that during the argument, Mr Philip brought out a knife to stab their nephew but was blocked by her mother who got injured in the process.
